Deerhound Club Breed Show Specials 2016 Critique

My grateful thanks to the Officers and Committee for this prestigious appointment which I enjoyed immensely and I had some very nice examples of the breed exhibited under me.

Maiden Dog/Bitch (4.2abs).

1st. BUSWELL'S GLENMORLICH HOLD THE DREAM.

Mature dog with good head, dark eye, well developed muscle tone, moved very well.

2nd. WILCE QUINTON'S HYNDSIGHT SKIRL.

Dog of good proportions, lovely reach of neck and correct feet, bend of stifle could have been better, movement was rather erratic but a good overall picture.

Special Coursing/Lure Chasing Dog/Bitch (10.3)

1st. LUCAS & DARGONNE'S HYNDSIGHT REASON TO BELIEVE.

Bitch in super muscular condition, could do the job she was bred for, feminine head with dark eye, good drooping back end, moved with ease around the ring.

2nd. SPRING-ARNOLD'S CHUILINN BELLINA.

Really racy type, again as 1 in lovely muscular condition which showed in her free movement.

3rd. LUCAS & DARGONNE'S GLENMORLICH NONE SO PRETTY FOR PACKWAY.

Brace (11.3).

1st. MISS S. FINNETT & MISS N. HEATHCOTE.

Beautiful matching pair who moved extremely well together by experienced handler.

2nd. MISS S. FINNETT & MISS N. HEATHCOTE.

Another pair from this kennel in excellent condition, moved with reach and drive round the ring.

3rd. MR. M. & MRS. G.M. PEACH.

Team ( 6.1).

1st. MR. G. & MRS. N.B. BAILEY.

This team was a pleasure to see moving in unison, so well matched in every respect, well done to the handler.

2nd. MISS S. FINNETT & MISS N. HEATHCOTE.

These were in tune together and moved covering the ground so freely.

3rd. MRS. R.L. QUINN.

Special Breeder's Group (3.1).

1st. MR. G. & MRS. N.B. BAILEY.

What a difficult task to get these to move together, it was easy to see that they were all from the same breeder and a pleasure to watch.

2nd. MS. K. BARRET.

Of smaller size than 1 but well matched with good shape all round, moved well.

Special Not Bred By Exhibitor (19.10).

1st. PEACH'S RUBEUS HAGRID TO KILBOURNE.

One to watch, certainly out of the top drawer, excellent head, good depth of chest, well angulated all round, easy reaching and driving movement.

2nd. GRIMSHAW & PAISEY'S GREYFLAX DOMINO TO JAMALISON.

Dog who is maturing nicely, classic head, good reach of neck into well laid shoulders, well muscled and in good coat.

3rd. GRIMSHAW & PAISEY'S GREYFLAX THE JAZZ SINGER TO JAMALISON.

Special Bred by Exhibitor (14.11).

1st. PEACH'S KILBOURNE MAX.

14 month old dog, good head and length of neck, correct top line, good body, well bent stifles and muscular tone, moved with ease.

2nd. BOND'S REGALFLIGHT RUEBEN.

This dog has matured well since I last judged him, but not quite the movement of 1.

3rd. BUSWELL'S GLENMORLICH HOLD THE DREAM.

Special Rotherwood Stakes Dog/Bitch (20.8).

1st. FINNETT & HEATHCOTE'S HYNDSIGHT RUNIN DOWN A DREAM.

Beautiful example of the breed, with dark eye, straight front, good feet, moved effortlessly with good drooping quarters, in excellent coat and muscular condition.

2nd. FINNETT & HEATHCOTE'S HYNDSIGHT DESPERADO.

Another fine example from this kennel, who has a super head and good coat and condition, moved with reach and drive around the ring.

3rd. GIRLING'S PYEFLEET SABINE.

Special Fancy Dress Dog/Bitch (2).

1st. LUCAS & DARGONNE'S GLENMORLICH NONE SO PRETTY FOR PACKWAY.

Comedy of Errors, the handlers were dressed very appropriately and moved easily around the ring with their bitch, a very nice ending to the show.

2nd. BUSWELL'S GLENMORLICH HOLD THE DREAM.

Measure for Measure including the dog who has the correct measurement from the Kennel Club Breed Standard.
